Hobgoblin, a Marvel Comics supervillain, debuted in *Amazing Spider-Man* #238 (March 1983).
Several individuals have adopted the Hobgoblin mantle. Roderick Kingsley, a wealthy fashion designer, was the original. He enhanced himself with a Goblin Formula and modified Norman Osborn's Goblin technology.
Other notable Hobgoblins include Ned Leeds, a reporter brainwashed and used as a stand-in, and Jason Macendale, a mercenary who later bonded with a demonic entity to become Demogoblin.
